Metallic nano Catalysts

Nano-catalysts are based on nanoscale particles. The chemical nature of the materials does not substantially different from the known macroscopic catalysts. Essential for the very efficient characteristic is the particle size. Nano-catalysts have significant larger surface area per unit volume compared to conventional materials.

Nanoscale catalysts can also be a combination of a carrier material such as carbon nanotubes or carbon fibers and a catalyst such as Gold or platinum.
